He is best known for being a six time U.S. national champion and the 1966 World Champion. Eldredge started skating at five years old and won a Silver medal at the 1987 World Junior Championships and a Gold in 1988.
He won U.S. national championships in 1990, 1991, 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2002. Eldredge was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2008. He had left hip replacement surgery in 2012 and has been a coach at the Dr. Pepper StarCenter in McKinney, Texas.
